Commercial software released free

Occasionally the big guys throw us a bone, and give away software packages for free. Here’s some of the meatier ones.

Studio Ghibli’s de-facto animation package, Toonz Premium has been released gratis, and is also open sourced.

Google released the ‘Nik Collection‘ of photo enhancing plug-ins.

Renderman – Pixar’s earlier rendering package.

WHDload – Amiga game hard disk installer – this is essential for >1mb Amigas.

MakeMKV – I guess this fits here, you get the full version and beta features using the current beta key. 

Kerkythea – Renderer with sketchup plugin. Now archived.
